Small footprint.
Clear intentions.
What we store
Your GitHub ID, profile details, verified primary email, encrypted OAuth credentials, login sessions and follow activity initiated here. Your email and private connection lists are never included in public profiles.
What becomes public
Only after you join: your GitHub name, handle, avatar, bio and optional X handle. Pausing participation removes your profile from the directory. Anyone can view active public profiles. Today’s most active supporter may be featured with their given and gained counts for the current UTC day.
Your choices
We do not send newsletters or post on X for you. A GitHub follow is sent only when you request it. You can pause participation, delete your account in Settings, or revoke this app in GitHub’s application settings. Deleting your account does not unfollow people on GitHub.
Fair participation
Each follow is voluntary. Return follows are not guaranteed. Do not use fake accounts, spam or bulk automation. follow.me is independent and is not affiliated with GitHub or X. GitHub’s own terms apply to activity on GitHub.
Storage and essential cookies
Cloudflare hosts the application and database. GitHub provides sign-in and follow functionality. Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect the OAuth flow. A preference cookie remembers your chosen color mode for up to one year. No advertising trackers are used.
Sponsor placements
The local promotion preview stores project details, a public X handle, destination URL and booking status. Test checkout is provided by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s website and are not stored by follow.me. Sponsor links are labeled and may include the advertiser’s referral parameters. We do not send your private GitHub email to advertisers or add advertising trackers.
Promotions are currently a test feature. Deleting your account cancels associated subscriptions before removing local booking records. Paid placement ends on deletion. Stripe manages its own payment records.
Retention
Account details and recorded connections remain until you delete your account. Deletion removes associated connection history, including its contribution to other participants’ recorded totals. Sessions expire after seven days. An hourly job removes up to 1,000 expired rows per category from sessions, OAuth verification records and request limits. Recovery copies follow Cloudflare D1’s configured backup retention.
